Every year i personally go in to the Paneveggio forest where it is said that Stradivari personally chose the best wood for the construction of his instruments. This trentino forest has in fact nicknamed “the violin forest” due to to the presence of the resonance wood used for the production of musical instruments.
In Turin Guadagnini’s style resulted in an originality and maturity that affirmed his greatness. The turin period is ofter considered the best for acoustic results of his instruments.
L. Storioni is considered one of the last classic luthier of cremonese’s cool of XVII. He continued Stradivari’s and Guarnieri’s tradition making superb violins whose are very much appreciated for their quality.
A Stradivari initially takes up the models of Amati from which he later diversities thus presenting some of his own peculiarities. His instruments are today considered a point of reference in the history of the violin. The images bilow represent various phases of the work of a Stradivari model and the finished instrument.
